SUMMARY:Small Shop: Grow Major Gifts With the Team You Have
DESCRIPTION:What prospect research skills look like in a small shop—and how to build them without a new hire. \n\n\n\nYou have a development coordinator\, a database administrator\, maybe a jack-of-all-trades who handles a little of everything. They’re capable and hardworking — but your major gift pipeline isn’t where it needs to be\, and you’re not sure what they could be doing to better support you.  \n\n\n\nIn this webinar\, Jennifer Filla\, CEO at Aspire Research Group\, shows you how nonprofits can upskill existing staff to better perform core prospect research skills – proactively surfacing your best donors\, delivering right-sized prospect profiles\, and supporting moves management for your team. You’ll walk away knowing what to ask of staff doing the research\, how that role can evolve to support your growing major gifts or campaign\, and where to find research-specific step-by-step training for your staff member.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Your Presenter\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJen Filla\n\n\n\nCEO | Aspire Research Group LLC \n\n\n\nPresident | Prospect Research Institute \n\n\n\n\n\nJen leads Aspire Research Group LLC\, a prospect research firm assisting fundraisers across the country who are concerned about finding the right prospects\, worried about what size gift to ask for\, or struggling to meet major gift goals. \n\n\n\nA popular speaker and trainer\, Jen co-wrote the book\, Prospect Research for Fundraisers: The Essential Handbook\, She launched the Prospect Research Institute to provide rigorous online courses. No more hidden gaps in knowledge affecting fundraising success! The Institute is on a mission to create opportunities for learning and provide an outlet for new ideas in the field of fundraising research.  \n\n\n\nDeeply committed to advancing philanthropy and the fundraising profession\, Jen has served as a volunteer and trustee for numerous organizations over the years including The Center Foundation and Habitat for Humanity of Delaware County\, PA.  \n\n\n\nShe is a member of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). She received a B.S. from Neumann University.

SUMMARY:The Organization That Said 'Hold My Coffee' to Industry Standards: Hear a first-hand account of bridging the gap between industry standards and organizational truth
DESCRIPTION:It’s a common story. You are excited to take a new job because you can shape and grow research and prospect management as the major gifts team grows. Who knows? Maybe you can start to build a team\, too! But a few weeks in\, you realize what sounded like good data practices in reality is inconsistent at best and the more you hear the major gift officers talking\, the more you realize everyone has their own system. \n\n\n\nSound familiar? \n\n\n\nThis session tells you a real life story and equips you with a practical framework to assess your current state\, identify the gaps that matter most\, and build buy-in across your major gifts team.

SUMMARY:AI Roundtable Series
DESCRIPTION:The Prospect Research Institute’s AI Roundtable Series brings together fundraising research and prospect management professionals for candid\, peer-driven conversations about artificial intelligence in our field.  \n\n\n\nThis five-part series is a space where there are no experts at the front of the room — just colleagues thinking through the same questions you are. Each roundtable is designed for equal\, open dialogue where every voice matters and no one is selling anything.  \n\n\n\nWhat to expect: Before each session\, your facilitator shares a resource to help frame the conversation. During the roundtable\, they ensure everyone has room to contribute — not just the loudest voices in the room. Afterward\, you receive a written summary of key takeaways and ideas. Sessions are not recorded\, supporting a candid and comfortable exchange. (A transcript is generated by the facilitator solely to assist with notetaking.)  \n\n\n\n\nEach session is one hour.  \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhat you’ll walk away with:  \n\n\n\n\nA clearer picture of how peers and their organizations are actually approaching AI — the experiments\, the hesitations\, and the wins \n\n\n\n\n\nPractical ideas and techniques for using generative AI in fundraising research that you can put to work right away \n\n\n\n\n\nA meaningful connection with colleagues who are navigating the same landscape \n\n\n\n\nWhether you’re actively experimenting with AI tools or just starting to figure out where to begin\, this series meets you where you are.  \n\n\n\nApra FL members can apply for three fully-paid scholarship seats with application – registration opening soon \n\n\n\nSeries details:   \n\n\n\nThere will be two cohorts to make live discussion actually workable across time zones:  \n\n\n\n\nCohort A (US-friendly): timed for Eastern–Pacific hours \n\n\n\n\n\nCohort B (Asia Pacific-friendly): timed for India\, Australia\, and New Zealand \n\n\n\n\nPick whichever slot you can actually show up for — it’s about the clock\, not where you live.   \n\n\n\nThere is a maximum of 10 participants per cohort. If you miss the first offering\, sign up for the wait list and we will offer a second cohort when there are enough participants.  \n\n\n\nDates: Five sessions. Real conversations. No pressure. \n\n\n\nTue\, 15 Sep 2026 at: 1pm ET | 9am India | 1:30pm Sydney AU | 3:30pm New Zealand \n\n\n\nWed\, 14 Oct 2026 at 1pm ET | 8am India | 1:30pm Sydney AU | 3:30pm New Zealand \n\n\n\nThu\, 12 Nov 2026 at 1pm ET | 8am India | 1:30pm Sydney AU | 3:30pm New Zealand \n\n\n\nTue\, 12 Jan 2027 at 1pm ET | 8am India | 1:30pm Sydney AU | 3:30pm New Zealand \n\n\n\nWed\, 10 Feb 2027 at 1pm ET | 9am India | 2:30pm Sydney AU | 4:30pm New Zealand \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitators:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJaime Kannan LamResearch Director and Consultant\, Aspire Research Group \n\n\n\nShe is passionate about aligning an organization’s strategic goals with their fundraising priorities\, research needs\, and fundraising metrics. \n\n\n\nJaime has lived in Charlotte since 2019.
